World Expo will be launched in Shanghai in 2010.In order to better portray the theme of “BetterCity, Better Life”, fulfilling the formidable task handed by Chinese Central Government, Shanghai will present an entirely new appearance.4 new parks which will be built entirely for World Expo, (World Expo Park, Hou Tan Park, Bai Lian Jin Park and Jiang Nan Park), improvement projects for Shanghai 104 blocks, every district and town will be in great need of all kinds of plants, horticultural materials, machines, tools and facilities, etc.

• What Will Shanghai Do Then?

According to the paper of “600 Days Scheme of How Shanghai Strengthen its City Environment and Management to Welcome 2010 World Expo” transmitted by Shanghai Municipality on July 11, 2008, Shanghai is going to implement “3 big projects”( improving the appearance of the city, improvement of living environment, City management improvement), and to realize “5 prominent changes” (Appearance of City, City Management Level, Service Standard, Living Environment and Upgrade of City Civilization)

• Timetable for World Expo Projects

Starting form the year of 2008 to 2010, the scheme mentioned above can be divided into 3 phases.The first phase which is to make plans and break down the whole task is from April to the end of August, 2008.The second one which is to implement and carry measures into execution is from September to December, 2008.The third one from January to the end of April, 2010 is to solidify and further perfect the construction to make sufficient preparations for World Expo.

Organized by China Flower Association, managed by Intex Shanghai and China Great Wall International Exhibition Co Ltd., “Hortiflorexpo China” is the largest official trade show in Chinese Horticultural, Floracultural and garden field.Because of the high quality of its exhibitors and visitors, Hortiflorexpo China enjoys a sound reputation in this field in China.Below please find its 3 main features,

• Being an annual event, it is one year in Shanghai and the other year in Beijing

• How to got to 2010 Shanghai World Expo

2010 World Expo is a big issue not only to Shanghai itself but also to China. It is an uncommon chance for China to show the world its national power, economy and culture.For a single company, Shanghai World Expo must mean huge opportunities.

Apart from traditional seminars, field visits, the organizer will

v       Cooperate with Shanghai Landscape Architecture and Gardening Trade Association to present a One-Day-Training-Course and saloon for landscape designers.Expected Audience will be around 120-150 people.

v       Special Matchmaking for sellers and buyers will be organized

v       Arrangement Show of flowers and assembled pot plant will be held.
