Design sketch (Freehand sketching/Renderings) introduction: D7-10 Half Coffee. The garden is designed into the shape of a coffee bean that just bursts out of the bud. The façade is in the abstract form of coffee, which rises from the ground and stretches to the seats and the bar counter. Decorated with the natural communities of flowering shrubs and perennial herbs, the design symbolizes the booming life. Outside the building are the oval hedges of varied species, suggesting that coffee comes from nature. When having coffee in the building, people are enjoying the fruits of their work. This is the original purpose of this project, i.e. reminding people of the source of their fruits. Nature is the mother of all lives. To lead a sustainable life, human beings need to make proper use of nature and be kind with it. The name Half Coffee causes one to think: what do we need to do with nature in order to turn the coffee beans into the mellow coffee?
The building is structured with wood, because the color of wood is similar to that of coffee. The texture of wood is close to nature as well. The oval wooden trestles in the grassland are just like the coffee beans scattering in nature.
The building is composed of the multi-purpose enclosed spaces. The bar counter functions as both the gathering space and the separation line. Visitors could either sit on the bench or the stone stools in isolation, or chat in the enclosed spaces.
